Mercedes Moxon Greenfield
Chief Technology Officer
Former UK Robotics Champion and accessibility advocate with extensive experience in developing inclusive technology solutions. Mercedes brings her technical expertise and commitment to digital inclusion to Community Stack's mission of transforming the third sector's digital infrastructure.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Barnsley, 30 July 2025 – Community Stack, the UK platform transforming digital infrastructure for the third sector, today announces the appointment of Mercedes Moxon Greenfield as Chief Technology Officer. Mercedes brings exceptional technical expertise and a proven commitment to inclusive technology design to Community Stack's mission of eliminating digital exclusion across Britain's third sector.
"Mercedes is exactly the technology leader we need to drive our vision forward. Her combination of technical rigour and deep understanding of accessibility challenges makes her uniquely qualified to build the digital infrastructure our sector requires."
Building Technology That Works for Everyone
Based in Sheffield, Ms Moxon Greenfield gained national recognition as UK Robotics Champion whilst developing breakthrough accessible language learning applications. Her work has consistently focused on creating technology that serves all users, particularly those traditionally excluded from digital spaces.
She has mentored young technologists in coding and STEM fields, championed accessibility-first software development, and delivered community technology programmes across South Yorkshire.
"I've witnessed how poorly designed technology can exclude entire communities. At Community Stack, we're building systems so intuitive that the technology disappears, allowing organisations to focus entirely on their social mission."
Addressing the Third Sector's Digital Challenge
As CTO, Ms Moxon Greenfield will lead Community Stack's engineering, product development, and accessibility teams, overseeing the design and delivery of platforms built specifically for small charities, grassroots organisations, and digitally excluded communities.
Community Stack addresses a critical challenge facing Britain's charitable sector: whilst large charities benefit from dedicated digital teams, thousands of local community groups and smaller charities remain offline and invisible to those seeking their services.
"Charities exist to help people, not to wrestle with complicated technology. Our role is to ensure that volunteer treasurers, overstretched organisers, and community leaders can access professional digital tools without technical barriers."
Community Switchboard Launch
The appointment comes as Community Stack prepares to launch Community Switchboard in January 2026, designed to enable any UK charity to establish a professional online presence within minutes, regardless of size or technical capacity.
"Mercedes has been instrumental in shaping this platform from conception. She's not simply joining as CTO – she's the co-architect of a movement to democratise digital infrastructure for community organisations."
About Community Stack
Founded in South Yorkshire, Community Stack develops accessible digital infrastructure solutions for UK charities and community organisations. The company is committed to ensuring every charitable organisation, regardless of size or resources, can maintain a professional digital presence.
